The most effective way to establish contact with us is through email via the
contact form. If you choose to us via phone, we will do our best to return your call in a timely manner.
About 3-6 weeks. Most projects will fall into the 3-4 week range.
We accept cash (in person only), personal checks, credit cards, + Paypal. For your security, we process credit cards through PayPal. Please note that construction on your project cannot begin until your payment has cleared.
In compliance with state and federal tax laws, we are required to collect 7% sales tax on any product purchased within or delivered to any address within the state of New Jersey, including local pick-ups. Products delivered out of the state of New Jersey are exempt from sales tax.
*Please note that for customers outside of New Jersey, if you choose to pickup your furniture at our shop, you will be subject to NJ sales tax. This will not be calculated at the initial online checkout; if you are out of state and choose “local pickup” at checkout, we will immediately send you an invoice for the sales tax. This can be paid using the same payment methods.
Once the project is complete, you will be required to pickup the finished piece within one week of notification. No project can he held longer than one weeks time. Any project not picked up within one week will incur a daily fee until pickup occurs. This fee must be paid in full before you can pickup your furniture. If you will be away for any duration during the period in which we are building your furniture, please let us know when you place your order so that we can mark it on your account. This will prevent any possible issues. Please see “Local Pickup” and “Delivery + Shipping” for further information.
Feel free to pickup your order if you wish. Please
contact us to schedule a pickup. On the day of the pickup, please bring all of the necessary equipment you will need to safety transport your furniture; i.e. ratchet straps/tie downs, moving blankets and padding, rope + string, transport flags, etc.

Delivery for customers within 75 miles of Shamong, NJ is $200. Before choosing this option at checkout, please
contact us to confirm this. We will quickly confirm that your delivery address is within our range, at which point you can continue your checkout process. For other shipping and delivery inquiries, please

As of now, we don’t offer staining or dying as part of our online store. The four wood species we offer cover a wide range of tones, which we feel provides enough color variation to match almost any space. Natural wood tones generally tend to match other wood tones; the colors don’t
have to be exactly the same to create an aesthetic harmony. Lastly, quality hardwood is a wonderful, natural gift. It’s high cost is partially a reflection of its beautiful, natural colors + tones, and it should be respected for such. If you do however wish to have something stained, simply contact
Receptive Design Studio, as this would qualify as custom work.
Our goal is to create
heirloom-quality furniture at a price that people can afford. With some investigation, you will find that our pricing is very fair. Quality hardwood lumber is expensive. The cost to construct solid wood joinery is also more extensive than typical “corner bracket” or pocket screwed furniture. Our furniture also has a very long lifespan. Taking this information into consideration, our prices are very fair + accurate.
Many, if not most other companies are actually producing much lower quality furniture without real mortise + tenon joinery and are selling their products incredibly marked up; as these types of mediocre construction techniques have now become industry standards.

Once your payment has cleared, you will be notified. Once you are notified, construction will begin and we can no longer issue a refund at that point. We cannot accept returns as we do not keep inventory; every project is made to order. All sales are final.
